Preparing for Your Class
When you arrive, the only thing you really need is yourself. Everything else is provided. Here’s how to get the most comfortable experience:
Clothing
- Traditional Yoga: Wear form-fitting but stretchy clothes such as leggings or shorts paired with a snug tank or tee. You want fabric that moves with you (and stays put when you’re stretching or bending).
- Hammock-Assisted Yoga: Wear form-fitting but stretchy clothes that cover the shoulders, armpits, lower back, knees, and back of knees. This is important to help prevent skin irritation and keep you secure in the fabric. Do not wear dangling or sharp jewelry, hair clips, or clothing with zippers, as these items can damage the hammock fabric.
Props & Extras
- Mats, blocks, straps, bolsters, and blankets are all on hand.
- If you have your own favorite mat or bolster, you’re welcome to bring it.
- For hammock classes, I supply the fabric and rigging—no need to bring anything extra.
Personal Comfort
- Wear a hair tie if your hair is long.
- Please arrive showered/clean without any perfume or scent; it's a small space and we're all pretty close together.
- Very long fingernails may be problematic in hammock-assisted yoga classes.
- Bring any medical or support items you need (knee brace, inhaler, etc.).
- Consuming meals or alcohol within two hours of your class is NOT recommended.
Mindset
- Bring curiosity, questions, and a willingness to explore. That’s really what makes a practice come alive.
If you’re ever unsure about something, say, whether a specific top or legging will work, just shoot me a quick message before class. I’m happy to help you feel 100% ready to dive in!
